ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

Room was not even entered by any staff until I complained. Our wet towels were not picked up, no clean towels left, trash can was overflowing, coffee mug not cleaned or replaced. Well of course not! No one even went in to see if any of these things needed to be done. Also no top sheet duvet with blanket is too warm, so a top sheet is needed. Electric cords hanging down the wall and we found another extension cord behind the bed. We were extremely disappointed as we and our family have stayed at what was Shady Nook for Many years. Being in Cape Cod again was wonderful and we plan to come back in September but we will stay elsewhere. I teared up when we arrived———what a let down. does the Fire dept know about all the extension cords?

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

I think I just made most of them, but how about a little bigger rug beside the bed and a safety bar beside the bathtub. And why was there a broom and dust pan in our room? The room rate was Way Too High for so little service.

We were placed in a room in the basement. Asked to switch, and young lady hung up on me telling me there were no other rooms available. Upon looking online I found there were others available. With that knowledge, we were able to switch. Rooms had sand on the floors and dust balls, etc. behind nightstand next to bed. We were so disappointed.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

My husband and I checked into our room and discovered that it was in a basement. Having asthma and allergies this type of room was not going to work for me.The young lady told me there were no other rooms to switch to. Before I was even finished with the conversation on the phone she hung up on me. She repeatedly tried to get off the phone with me numerous times when she hadn’t answered all of my questions. I looked online and noticed there were additional rooms available. We went down to discuss this with her and she made the switch after we shared that we knew there was an available room.

Both rooms had sand all over the floor you could feel it when you walked. Behind the nightstand in between the beds was very dusty and dirty with several dust balls. I did take photos. Upon check out we were told we would receive a 20% discount but that is not adequate based on our experience with you.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Please do not hang up on your customers.

ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK:

The power went out in half of our room which took out the refrigerator and bathroom lights. We had ice cream in the freezer which dripped onto all of the leftovers that we had in the refrigerator rendering them useless. While I understand that the cause of the outage was not the hotel’s fault (car vs. pole on a nearby street), the lack of any kind of emergency generator on the property was disheartening. We lost food but we encountered an elderly guest in the same situation who was unable to use her bathroom safely. We gave her the flashlight from our car. When we called the front desk about the outage the only response was that they were waiting to hear from the power company. The proper response should have been to proactively check on the welfare of their guests.

Our room had someone burn curry in the kitchen and the whole room smelled like burnt curry basically. I complained the morning after we checked in and was told there were no more rooms since it was a holiday weekend. We understood. No one called to check in with us to see if the smell disappeared, nothing to see if they could make our stay better or at least offer a sorry. Fast forward to the last day of our stay, all we can smell is burnt curry, our clothes, my sons hair and stuffed animal, my expensive cooler bag, pretty much anything in the room for an extended period of time smelled. Open the door and the smell hit you like a wall. Luckily our clothes can be washed and there is no smell after returning home to wash them. I did receive a phone call from “the manager on duty” who wasn’t on the property, after 3 phone calls and being told by the desk clerk not to be mad at her. I was offered 10% off my stay, big deal, they charge your card the morning of checkout and this was after the fact, so I haven’t seen an updated bill to see if they actually did the minuscule discount. I hope the next person who has to stay in that room loves curry because the smell follows you home even a day after you’re gone. This place looks great, the room otherwise was good and was upgraded well. However when you’re stuck in the smelly room, nothing else can be said to make it better.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS:

Make sure the room you’re renting to someone doesn’t smell like burnt curry and try to cover it up with open windows, a dehumidifier and fans. Actually clean the space or perhaps replace things that smell so someone else can stay in the room.

Had a wonderful stay. Wished the staff were more versed on things to do in the area. It was raining and was looking for suggestions. They gave me a map of the area and pointed out the water front. I ended up just using google. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. During breakfast they were moving quickly making sure that all the food and silverware was filled.
